William Russell

William "Bill" C. Russell, 91, passed away Jan. 5, 2011, at his home of over 50 years in Goodsprings. Bill was born April 20, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo. He was married to Cecelia "Tiny" Schmitz for over 50 years. Cecelia passed away in 1998. Bill served in Europe during World War II. He was a retired carpenter of 40 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Jackie (Robert) Mc Leod of Great Falls, Mont., and Peggy (Jim) Stephens of Goodsprings; and seven grandchildren, Debbie Smith, William Mc Leod, Robert Mc Leod Jr., Lucy Stephens, Harry Meras, Stephanie Stephens and Jay Stephens. Bill also had 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 1-5 p.m. Friday, Jan 14, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Goodsprings Community Church, 480 W. San Pedro Ave., Goodsprings.
