Dottie (Hauck) Fusch

August 4, 1934 ~ March 18, 2021 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Tribute

Dorothy “Dottie“ Fusch-Auerswald, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend, passed away at the age of 86 on March 18, 2021, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital - San Martin in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dottie was the widow of John Fusch, with whom she shared 43 beautiful years of marriage and family life. Eleven years later, Dottie met and fell in love with Frank Auerswald. Dottie and Frank were married in 2013, and shared eight years of marital bliss.

The daughter of Russell and Mary Hauck, Dottie was born August 4, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey. By all accounts a loving and dutiful daughter, Dottie was a studious girl who went on to graduate with a BA from New Jersey State Teachers College in Montclair, NJ. During her time at college, Dottie was a member of the Sigma Alpha Eta Sorority, and on the executive council of the Kappa Delta Pi, Gamma Epsilone chapter. Dottie was a dedicated elementary school teacher and teacher’s aide for the majority of her career.

Dottie was a dedicated member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church and Christ the King Catholic Community. For decades, she served on Parish Council, as a lector and eucharistic minister, and volunteered at the CTK Manna Cupboard. Dottie lovingly put others’ needs before her own throughout her lifetime. Dottie will be remembered for her giving spirit, her vibrance, and her love for life. The core that will always bind her family together, Dottie treasured her 4 children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, who loved and adored spending time with their “GMa.” In her free time, Dottie enjoyed years of tap dancing with Ryan’s Rebels, and ultimately cared for friends Peggy Ryan and Ruth DiPaolo during their declining years. Dottie was full of life, often being the first to arrive at gatherings and the last to leave, but never without saying how grateful she was and how much she loved all those present. Almost every conversation with Dottie ended with “talk at ya later” and “God Bless You.” Dottie possessed a rare and remarkable ability to share a kind word with everyone she encountered. God bless you, Dottie, our Precious Angel!

Dottie is survived by her husband Frank Auerswald; children and spouses Eric Fusch (Trish Fusch), Christopher Fusch (Tracy Fusch), MaryEllen Fusch-Sanchez (Kurt Green), J.J. Fusch-Kashnow (David Kashnow), Jude Ann Auerswald-Prior (Ray Prior); grandchildren Andrew Fusch, Brittany Fusch, Jessica Fusch, Linsy Fusch, Brandon Fusch, Alex Sanchez, Kelsey Fusch, Max Goebel, Lydia Goebel, Abigail Green, Anna Green, Daniel Green, Kaitlin Green, Erik Prior, Kate Prior, Luke Prior, and Anna Townsend; and great-grandchildren Tegan Fusch, Devyn Fusch, Juniper Green, and Jayden Fusch.
