Earnestine Walls

October 30, 1930 ~ September 23, 2018 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Tribute

Earnestine (Pointer) Walls, was born on October 30, 1930 in Decatur Alabama to the late James and Carrie (Swoope) Pointer. Earnestine, also formally known as “Mama” and “Great grandma” to her close relatives, started her journey as an icon and forever role model to her friends and family.

Earnestine started her education at E. Fifth street elementary, later attending and graduating from Kimball high school. In her earlier years she moved to Chattanooga Tennessee, where she met her late husband Donald Walls bared 3 beautiful children Carolyn (Walls) Golden, and twins Larry and Leon. After spending her younger years there, she decided she was not complete. She then continued her journey and moved to the “Big Apple” New York City with her children. She furthered her education in accounting, that then lead her to Canada to receive her bachelors degree and later on several others. She settled into a career that became the spotlight of her future at “New York City transit authorities” which she became successful and retired.

During her time in New York, Earnestine was blessed with a beautiful grand daughter which she named “Peaches” because she was “fuzzy” like a peach! Shortly after her time in New York City, Earnestine felt like she could do more with her future, and for the ones she cared about most. She decided to take it a step further making her last and final destination to Las Vegas, NV. where she built a little house on “Evening View Street”, she’d then later called a family home to her great grandchildren, Dennis, Justinn, Jazzanae, and Janaya. Great great grandchildren. Peaches, Dennis Jr., Markell, Sunny, and Shai. Also with a host of nieces and nephews in Ohio, and California.

Earnestine enjoyed gardening and cooking with her late daughter Carolyn, watching tennis, and most importantly watching her legacy grow. Earnestine, ended her journey on September 23, 2018 at Infinity Hospice Care. She leaves behind a handful of loved ones, her granddaughter Peaches, son in-law James Golden, great grand children, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her brother Ali Hassan, and her beloved friend Martha. Although, she was welcomed into paradise by her loved ones whom preceded her in death. Her parents James and Carrie, children Carolyn,Larry, and Leon, siblings Kathleen, and James Jr., and grandson in-law Darrel Warmsley.

Earnestine may have departed, but she will always live on in our hearts and memories. Always and Forever, with love and peace.
