Welcome to the memorial page for

Sara Gonzalez

October 27, 2017

Sara Gonzalez, daughter of Lazaro and Lucia Gomez and sister to Adela Calderon was born in Pecos, Texas on August 2, 1936. She was a doting wife of 58 years to her husband Al Gonzalez, a supportive mother to 5 children; Joel, Noel, Melva, Melinda and Debbie and a loving grandma to 5 grandchildren; Kristina, Joel, Lance, Mea, and Elijah. She was retired from Clark County School District as a cafeteria worker, was an avid gardener and loved watching the birds and tending to her flowers. In her free time she loved listening to mariachi music, playing bingo, doing word searches, shopping and most of all, visiting with family and friends. Every time she had visitors, there was always a hot pot of coffee nearby, a table full of sweets, and an open heart ready to listen. She passed away surrounded by love and returned to our Lord on October 27, 2017. A rosary will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 7pm with a mass taking place on Saturday, November 4th, at 12pm at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church: 6350 N. Fort Apache Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89149 with a reception to follow. We ask that all those attending her mass on Saturday to please wear blue in honor of Sara’s favorite color. Her family will deliver her to a final resting place in Odessa, Texas at a later date where she will be peacefully reunited with her parents and son Joel.
